![]() ![]() Well, at least they didn't make the youkols ride mammoths trough fairly big towns.Īs for the bad guys - other than doing it simply because they do not like the youkols, I have not found a reason for the extermination. It's long, but it keeps the momentum going throughout. ![]() The title also has quite bit of truth to it. The graphics haven't aged well, but it's still a classic P&C adventure game. If anyone who likes the original Syberia hasn't played the Longest Journey, give it a try. Even though I already had DFC on PC (both GOG and Steam editions), I even got DFC for PS4 since I didn't mind another playthrough. I don't believe that Syberia 3 is a superior game deserving a superior price. Even though it wasn't a $60 title, I was amused that Syberia 3 had a higher launch price than Dreamfall Chapters (on consoles). I'm happy to pay launch price for a worthy title. It's also probably why he had a hard time raising funds to make Syberia 3 and why it was long delayed. I think when one individual has too much creative say in a franchise, it spells disaster over the long run. For whatever reason Benoit has decided to go a different route. When I saw on the Store Page way back that Syberia 3 was " brand new tale, completely different from the first two Syberia games," that raised a red flag for me. Knowing the focus of Syberia 3 has caused me to lose any interest in it. It just wasn't nearly as great as the first. Syberia 2 had its moment, and it wasn't a bad game per se. The second one was a letdown overall to me. From what I've read so far, lots of reviews here complain about the same thing. Are you seriously telling me that now everyone knows of them and the Russian goverment is on their case? Do correct me if I am wrong, but this premise alone, the huge conspiracy that goes against the down to earth plot of the prior games, it just makes me a bit annoyed. The Youkols were a mystery, with no-one knowing if they exist. While that could have worked, this game goes completely against what was set up in Syberia 1 and 2. But we take the Automata that were the focal point, remove them almost entirely and focus on the Youkol tribe. The game feels sloppy, but that can pass with a story nearly as captivating as the previous games. While I can't say I played thorugh this, or watched the entirety of this, what I did see did not inspire confidence or satisfation. I care about the depth put into the story, the amount of effort put into lore, and the incredibly rich world of the game. I am sorry, I don't care about the gameplay, it was never the good part of the game. 12 years of waiting for my favourite point and click to get another game only to receive a bastardisation of the story. Hi, I am a long time Syberia fan, and I just wanted to say this here, just to throw my opinion out somewhere and get this out. ![]()
